Fauquier Juneteenth will be celebrated over two days at two different locations.

Friday’s celebration will feature a community lunch, Juneteenth program, historical presentations, the Warrenton Mayoral Candidate Panel, curated vendors, food, family activities, live music, and uplifting entertainment.

Saturday’s Cultural and Arts Festival and Health Fair will feature live music, vendors, food trucks, youth activities, community resources, health and wellness activities, and family entertainment.

Is admission free?

Yes. General admission to Fauquier Juneteenth is free and open to the public.

Food, merchandise, and certain optional activities may be available for purchase from participating vendors.

Is the event family-friendly?

Absolutely! Fauquier Juneteenth is designed as a welcoming, family-focused community celebration for guests of all ages.

Children must remain under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

PARKING AND SHUTTLE SERVICE

Where should I park on Friday?

Parking near Eva Walker Park is limited. Guests are strongly encouraged to use the free shuttle service rather than attempting to park immediately around the park. For more information visit Friday Parking & Logistics.

Please follow all posted parking signs and instructions from law-enforcement officers, parking attendants, shuttle drivers, and event volunteers.

May I park at Power Trucks USA?

No. Power Trucks USA, located at 156 Alexandria Pike, is not an authorized event parking area.

Please do not park in private business lots unless the location is specifically identified as official Fauquier Juneteenth parking.

Unauthorized vehicles may be subject to towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Where should I park on Saturday?

Because parking at the WARF will be limited, festival guests are strongly encouraged to park at:

The preferred parking area is the parking lot located off Route 211 which is the Sports Complex Parking lot accessed directly off of 211. For more information visit Saturday Parking & Logistics.

Free shuttle service will transport guests between Fauquier High School and the WARF.

Saturday shuttle hours: 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

There will be no shuttle service from Municipal Lot A on Saturday.

Is parking available at the WARF?

A limited amount of parking may be available at or near the WARF. Some spaces will be reserved for accessible parking, event personnel, performers, vendors, emergency personnel, and authorized vehicles.

Parking at the WARF is not guaranteed. Using the shuttle from the preferred Fauquier High School parking lot off Route 211 is strongly recommended.

Is the shuttle free?

Yes. Fauquier Juneteenth shuttle service is free.

May I bring a stroller, folding wheelchair, or mobility device on the shuttle?

Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate strollers and mobility devices.

Strollers should be folded before boarding when possible. Guests who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices should notify a shuttle attendant upon arrival so they can be directed to an appropriate vehicle or loading area.

Where will the shuttle pick me up after the event?

Please look for designated shuttle-stop signs and follow directions from event volunteers.

Guests are encouraged to remember which parking location they used before boarding the shuttle. Allow extra travel time during peak arrival and departure periods.

WHAT TO BRING

What should I bring to the event?

Guests may wish to bring:

  • A portable lawn chair or folding chair

  • Sunscreen

  • A hat or umbrella for shade

  • A refillable, non-glass water bottle

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Necessary medication

  • A small personal bag

  • Hearing protection for young children or guests sensitive to loud music

  • Cash or a credit or debit card for food and vendor purchases

  • Patience, joy, and your community spirit

Please label important personal items with your name and telephone number when practical.

May I bring outside food and beverages?

Guests may bring small personal snacks and nonalcoholic beverages for their own use.

Glass containers, alcoholic beverages, grills, cooking equipment, and large outside food-service setups are not permitted.

Guests are encouraged to support the event’s food vendors, community food programs, and Friday Fish Fry Fundraiser.

May I bring a cooler?

Small personal coolers may be permitted, subject to inspection.

Large coolers, rolling coolers, commercial food containers, and coolers containing alcohol or glass are prohibited unless specifically authorized by event management.

Do not leave coolers unattended or place them where they block pedestrian traffic.

May I bring a tent or canopy?

Guests should not bring personal tents, pop-up canopies, umbrellas with ground stakes, or other large structures unless they have received advance authorization from Fauquier Juneteenth.

Unauthorized structures can obstruct sight lines, damage the grounds, interfere with vendors, or create a safety hazard during wind or severe weather.

Small handheld umbrellas may be used as long as they do not obstruct others.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

What items are prohibited?

For everyone’s safety, the following items are prohibited unless specifically authorized for official event operations:

  • Firearms, knives, and weapons of any kind

  • Fireworks, sparklers, explosives, and incendiary devices

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia

  • Glass bottles and glass containers

  • Personal grills, burners, cooking devices, and open flames

  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft

  • Laser pointers

  • Large tents, canopies, or structures

  • Unauthorized signs, solicitation, vending, or distribution of materials

  • Motorized recreational vehicles, including ATVs and unauthorized golf carts

  • Any item considered dangerous, disruptive, or inappropriate for a family event

Lawfully authorized public-safety personnel are exempt from applicable restrictions while performing official duties.

Event management and public-safety personnel reserve the right to inspect bags and refuse entry to, or remove, any item that may present a safety concern.

Are weapons permitted?

Weapons are not permitted within the managed event area except when carried by authorized law-enforcement or public-safety personnel performing official duties.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking, vaping, and the use of tobacco or cannabis products are not permitted within the primary festival, children’s activity, food-service, seating, or performance areas.

Guests must comply with all posted signs and applicable local regulations.

What behavior is expected from attendees?

We ask everyone to help us create an environment that is safe, welcoming, inclusive, and respectful.

Guests are expected to:

  • Treat other attendees, volunteers, vendors, performers, and event personnel with kindness

  • Respect personal boundaries and ask before hugging or touching someone

  • Use respectful language

  • Follow instructions from volunteers, event organizers, law enforcement, and emergency personnel

  • Supervise children in their care

  • Respect the event grounds, facilities, displays, and vendor property

  • Keep walkways, emergency lanes, accessible routes, and shuttle-loading areas clear

  • Place trash and recycling in designated containers

  • Celebrate differences while remembering that we have gathered as one community

  • Bring patience, especially during busy parking, shuttle, food-service, and departure periods

What behavior is not permitted?

The following behavior may result in removal from the event:

  • Fighting, threatening, or intimidating conduct

  • Harassment, discrimination, or hateful language

  • Unwanted physical contact

  • Disrupting performances, presentations, vendors, or scheduled programming

  • Entering restricted, performer-only, vendor-only, or staff-only areas

  • Damaging property

  • Throwing objects

  • Refusing reasonable instructions from event staff or public-safety personnel

  • Conduct that endangers guests, volunteers, performers, vendors, or staff

We can disagree respectfully while still protecting the spirit of unity and community that defines Fauquier Juneteenth.

You can first locate the vendor’s name on the alphabetical list, identify the assigned booth number, and then use the festival map to find that booth.

Can I search for vendors alphabetically or by booth number?

Yes. The online vendor information is designed to help guests search in two ways:

By vendor name:
Use the alphabetical vendor list to locate the business or organization.

By booth number:
After locating the assigned booth number, use the 2-D or 3-D festival map to find the booth’s location.

Will volunteers help me find a vendor?

Yes. Guests may also visit the Welcome or Information Tent for assistance locating vendors, food trucks, activities, stages, restrooms, first aid, shuttle stops, and other event features.

May I distribute flyers, sell products, collect donations, or campaign at the event?

Only registered vendors, approved organizations, participating campaigns, sponsors, and individuals who have received authorization from Fauquier Juneteenth may sell products, solicit donations, distribute materials, conduct organized outreach, or operate a display.

Unauthorized vending and solicitation are prohibited.

May I bring my own table and sell something?

No. All vendors and exhibitors must be registered and approved in advance. Walk-up vending is not permitted.

FRIDAY FISH FRY FUNDRAISER

Will there be a fish fry on Friday?

Yes! Fauquier Juneteenth will host a Fish Fry Fundraiser on Friday, June 19, beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m. at Eva Walker Park.

Fish fry meals will be available while supplies last.

Guests are encouraged to place advance orders through the Fish Fry Presales section of the Fauquier Juneteenth website:

Proceeds from the fish fry will help support Fauquier Juneteenth programs and community activities.

What will be included in the fish fry meals?

Meal selections and available sides will be listed on the Fish Fry Presales page.

Advance purchasers should retain their order confirmation and be prepared to provide the name used when placing the order.

Can I purchase a meal without preordering?

A limited number of meals may be available for walk-up purchases beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Walk-up availability is not guaranteed. Preordering is recommended.

Where will I pick up my fish fry order?

Fish fry pickup will take place at the designated Fish Fry Fundraiser area at Eva Walker Park.

Look for signs or ask a volunteer at the Welcome or Information Tent for directions.

ACCESSIBILITY

Is the event accessible to guests with disabilities?

Fauquier Juneteenth is committed to making the celebration welcoming and accessible.

Accessible parking spaces will be reserved for vehicles displaying a valid disability parking placard or license plate. Accessible spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Please do not park in access aisles, shuttle-loading zones, fire lanes, or other restricted areas.

Guests needing assistance should visit the Welcome or Information Tent or speak with an event volunteer.

Will seating be provided?

Limited seating may be available in designated areas.

Guests are encouraged to bring a portable lawn chair or folding chair for personal use.

Please position chairs only in approved guest areas. Do not block walkways, emergency lanes, vendor entrances, shuttle-loading areas, or accessible routes.

Are restrooms available?

Yes. Restroom facilities or portable restrooms will be available at the event sites.

Please ask an event volunteer for the nearest location.

Are service animals permitted?

Yes. Service animals trained to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability are permitted.

Service animals must remain under the control of their handler. They should be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless doing so would interfere with the animal’s trained work or the handler’s disability prevents the use of those devices.

The handler is responsible for supervising, caring for, and cleaning up after the service animal.

A service animal may be required to leave if it is not housebroken, is out of control and the handler does not take effective action, or poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others.

Are emotional-support, comfort, or therapy animals considered service animals?

Animals whose sole purpose is to provide comfort or emotional support are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Are pets allowed?

For the safety and comfort of guests, performers, food vendors, children, and animals, please leave pets at home.

Trained service animals are welcome.

FOOD, VENDORS, AND PAYMENTS

Will food be available?

Yes. Food trucks, food vendors, beverages, and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

Friday will include a sponsored community lunch while supplies last and a Fish Fry Fundraiser beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Food availability, menus, and prices will vary by vendor.

Will vendors accept credit cards?

Payment methods are determined by each vendor.

Some vendors may accept credit cards, mobile payments, Cash App, or other electronic payments, while others may accept cash only.

Bringing more than one form of payment is recommended.

Is there an ATM at the event?

ATM availability is not guaranteed. Guests who plan to use cash should obtain it before arriving.

CHILDREN AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Are children’s activities free?

All Juneteenth youth and family activities are expected to be free.

Fees may apply to certain purchases or independently operated vendor activities. For example, a face painting vendor may charge a fee.

May I leave my child at an activity while I visit another part of the festival?

No. Children must remain under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

Event volunteers and activity monitors do not provide childcare.

What should I do if my child becomes separated from me?

Immediately notify a uniformed law-enforcement officer, public-safety representative, or Fauquier Juneteenth volunteer. Go to the Information Tent and standby.

Do not leave the event grounds to search independently without first notifying event personnel.

Families are encouraged to select a meeting location when they arrive and teach children to look for an event volunteer or uniformed officer if they become separated.

WEATHER AND EVENT CHANGES

Is Fauquier Juneteenth rain or shine?

Yes. Fauquier Juneteenth is scheduled to take place rain or shine.

Guests should check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

Programming may be delayed, relocated, modified, or canceled when necessary for public safety.

What happens during severe weather?

Event organizers will monitor weather conditions.

If lightning, high winds, extreme heat, heavy rain, or another emergency creates an unsafe condition, guests may be instructed to leave an area, return to their vehicles, board a shuttle, or seek shelter.

Please follow announcements and instructions from event personnel and public-safety officials immediately.

Where will weather updates or schedule changes be posted?

Updates may be shared through:

  • On-site announcements

  • Email communications

  • Instructions from public-safety personnel and event volunteers

Check for updates before leaving home, particularly when severe weather is forecast.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING

Will photographs or videos be taken?

Yes. Fauquier Juneteenth is a public community event.

Photographers, videographers, news organizations, guests, and event representatives may capture photographs, video, or audio throughout the celebration.

By entering the event area, attendees acknowledge that they may appear in event photography or recordings.

May guests take pictures and videos?

Personal photography and video recording are generally welcome, provided they do not disrupt programming, obstruct walkways, interfere with performers or vendors, or invade another person’s reasonable expectation of privacy.

Commercial photography, organized interviews, livestream production, and professional recording may require advance approval.

May I fly a drone over the event?

No. Unauthorized drones are prohibited over and within the event area.

SAFETY, FIRST AID, AND LOST ITEMS

Will security be present?

Yes. Event staff, volunteers, law-enforcement personnel, emergency responders, or other public-safety representatives may be present.

Please promptly report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, unattended packages, or emergencies.

Is first aid available?

Basic first-aid assistance or emergency response support will be available.

In an emergency, call 911 or immediately notify a uniformed officer, event volunteer, or staff member.

Where is the lost-and-found area?

Found items should be taken to the Welcome or Information Tent.

Fauquier Juneteenth is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Unclaimed items may be disposed of or donated after the event.

What should I do if I lose my keys, phone, or wallet?

Report the item to the Welcome or Information Tent and provide:

  • Your name

  • A telephone number or email address

  • A description of the item

  • The approximate location and time it was last seen

Do not share passwords, complete payment-card numbers, or other sensitive information.
